Responsibilities:
Our client in the shoes, apparel, and accessories
industry is seeking an Assistant Manager of Benefits to join their
dynamic team in providing the “WOW” factor. This position
will bring, energy, new ideas, enthusiasm, fun, innovation, talent, and
security to the benefits team. In this role you will be responsible for
developing, implementing, managing and administering competitive and
responsive benefit plans and programs for employees. Primary
responsibilities includes:
- Plan, develop, and design benefits programs and analyze benefit costs
- Ensure programs are current and competitive with regard to trends, practices and costs.
- Working with Broker, negotiate coverage services and costs with carriers and vendors.
- Ensure legislative compliance of plans.
- Effectively analyze and resolve claim issues that have been escalated.
- Develop and manage programs that help employees make more informed benefit choices.
- Development and delivery of communications specific to benefit/retirement plans, open enrollment, benefits orientation, etc.
- Communicate plan value and improve understanding of benefit plans.
- Work/Life Benefits: develop additional work life benefit programs that will make us a leading edge employer.
- Knowledge of Cafeteria Plans
- Knowledge of Insurance Self-Funding
- Work with the rest of the HR team to monitor and evaluate
standard benefits such as sick leave, paid time off and vacation
policies to ensure that they meet the needs of the company and offers a
competitive edge in the marketplace.
Required Skills:
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills in a challenging fast-paced, results oriented environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels.
- Knowledge of all legal and compliance issues in the benefits disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the aptitude to be a team player.
- Self-starter, creative thinker, and a risk taker.
- Excellent proficiency in all MS Office products, especially Excel.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate large sums of data.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 - 7 years experience managing a Benefits team.
- Professional knowledge of benefit plan principles; familiarity
with state and federal government legislation and regulations in the
field of benefits.
- Demonstrated success in benefit design, implementation and administration
- Experience designing and implementing programs focused on attracting, rewarding, and retaining top talent.
- Familiarity with on-line administration of Benefit Programs
- Understand the industry and markets in which we do business
Compensation:
$60,000 to $70,000 plus benefits
